Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have the most amazing nanny (who I consider my second mom). Not only was she the best caretaker, but an unbelievable cook. We spent a lot of time together in the kitchen, whether it was for family dinner during the week or for a big holiday. This type of exposure at a young age is where I got my passion for food and my interest in cooking. As I got older and eventually lived on my own, I learned to cook for myself and friends. Fast forward to family life in the burbs, and that is where my passion for pizza began. What started as pizza on the grill in my mom’s backyard has turned into so much more.
During COVID, I was introduced to someone in our neighborhood that was making sourdough pizza. Everyone raved about it, and when I had my first bite, I could understand why! It was hands down one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. You could literally put anything on the top of that dough, and it would taste amazing. If you’ve never had sourdough in this form before, the flavor and texture is of another level when compared to classic white bread.
