At Amen Family Child Development, we support children’s social-emotional growth by teaching them social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and expressing their feelings appropriately.
Our social-emotional development services are designed to promote children’s social and emotional well-being, and at Amen Family Child Development, we provide a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters positive relationships, self-awareness, and self-regulation.
We support and encourage positive behavior support, so we use positive behavior support strategies to teach children how to regulate their emotions and behaviors in a healthy way. These strategies include using positive reinforcement, setting clear expectations, and providing guidance and support when children struggle with self-regulation. Next, we help children develop social skills by providing opportunities for cooperative play, sharing, and problem-solving. We also use social stories and other instructional materials to teach children about social norms and expectations.
Furthermore, we offer emotional support to children by validating their feelings, providing a safe space to express emotions, and modeling healthy coping strategies. Our staff works with children and families to develop individualized plans for emotional support and intervention. Lastly, we also work with parents to support social-emotional development at home by providing resources and education on topics such as positive discipline, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
